Karen-Fulbright-Anderson

CEO working principally with foundations and non-profit organizations. I bring to this work nearly 40 years of experience designing, managing, implementing and evaluating programs and initiatives for foundations and non-profit organizations using a theory-driven approach.

I am the CEO of Fulbright-Anderson and Associates, a consulting group that works principally with foundations and non-profit organizations. I bring to this work nearly 40 years of experience designing, managing, implementing and evaluating programs and initiatives for foundations and non-profit organizations using a theory-driven approach.

My skill set includes leadership development, primary and secondary research, strategic planning, program design and management, the application of the theory of change approach to planning and evaluation, policy analysis, multi-disciplinary literature analyses, field scans, capacity building, and curriculum development.

My substantive areas of experience include community change, racial equity and inclusion, and youth development.

Recent projects include: an evaluation of a foundation collaborative focused on boys and men of color, the development of a racial justice manual for the YWCA, Inc., an assessment of the capacity building needs of key stakeholders in a Building Neighborhood Capacities community, racial equity leadership development workshops for non-profits and foundations, and an examination of the food industry as an economic development tool for non-profits.

I worked at the Aspen Institute for seventeen years in several capacities including Policy Program Director and Chair of Policy Programs. I worked as a: Program Officer at the Ford Foundation; Senior Program Officer at the Commonwealth Fund; Research Director at The Vera Institute of Justice; Faculty Member at the New School University; and Visiting Faculty Member at the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT.
